I know how to make a multipage pdf file in Illustrator,
but when I get a multipage pdf file, how do I open ALL PAGES at once in Illustrator?

(Illustrator askes which page to open; but I want to open them all)

thanks for the help!

You cannot open a multi-page PDF in illustrator.  Once it's become a Multi-Page PDF, you cannot revert it to a multi-page Illustrator file.

In Illustrator, to MAKE a multi-page PDF, change your page size to the number of pages you want, i.e. if you want 5 8 1/2" x 11" pages, make the document 42 1/2" wide by 11" tall or 8 1/2" wide by 44" tall, then in the File > Print section, select "Setup" then change the "Tiling" to "Tile Full Pages".  Make sure you have the View > View Page Tiling turned on.

Save as an illustrator file to edit, but when saving as a PDF file, it will give you the option to save multi-page PDF.
